new director!

"today i am advancing to director!"
"Manager level so far has been my favorite and a very rewarding experience. The level work has taught me so much. I have learned to set realisitic goals for myself and coming up with several ways to achieve them. From the academic level work I have finally figured out what i want to tdo with my life. I have decided I want to go to college and recieve a dgree in education. I know for a fact that back at home this would have never been the case, and I am proud and grateful to be given the time to have figured it out.

Another aspect I have learned is staying committed. I know that things are not always going to be easy, but it is up to me how to deal with kit. A specific example is in cheer. As much as I enjoy it, it is a hard sport and being a leader can sometimes be rough. But I understand there are going to be good and bad times and it is how I can push myself through it.

Establishing boundaries is also something I’ve applied. Being a mentor picking friends that are good for me is the best thing for me. I really enjoy being an upper level. It’s good to have the girls look up to you. Being in the mentor dorm has taught me even more responsibility and acceptance of others. I absolutely love helping the other girls out and I feel I do a good job as setting a positive example. I have learned to accept myself for who I am."

twt

tUeSdAyS witH taYLeiGh!

last week, the upper levels asked me if we could clean up yellow camp and have a bonfire and roast marshmallows...
my response?
"HECK YES!"
while we were cleaning it up, in addition to our own bonfire, we decided to have a devotional night for the whole campus some time in the near future. the mentors are already planning a program for the rest of the girls!
s'mores are a must.

after our project, we had a discussion about teamwork and backing each other up in the mentor dorm. we ate dinner and then watched, "she's the man."

graduate level

"i can't believe i'm going up for graduate today. when i first got here i was desensitized to the things around me and the things i had done... it wasn't until i progressed in my program that i noticed i wasn't perfect and that i needed to work on a lot of things. in spite of feeling like a lost case, i eventually pulled together. i can't stress enough how much i've learned to priritize. this is the hardest i've ever worked for anything. one thing i'm most grateful for is the respect i've gained from my family. i love that they don't think of me as a little kid anymore because they can see i'm responsible and that i'm only wanting to do good.

i know i'm ready to become a graduate because director level made me at peace with myself and with my past decisions. i want to tell the girls that they also have the opportunity to grow from their experiences. i know how difficult it was for me to forgive myself and keep on moving; i know the girls can all accomplish their goals.

in conclusion, graduating from diamond ranch academy will be my first big step to getting out there and being truly happy. i can't thank everyone here enough for all that they've inspired me. my optimism has been restored..."

vb game 2

DIAMONDBACK VB
"On Tuesday we played the Parowan Rams Volleyball team. Though the whole team played awesome as a whole, there was one player who outshined all: Whisper Creek's Sara had a huge impact on our game. Her ten foot line hits really made the game. At the end of the game we had a parent come up to us and say, “Well I’m glad my daughter has to deal with your hits and not me because I know I’d be scared.” It was a really nice compliment. Sara really helped the team come together and win our game and can’t wait till out next game!"

after dinner, all the girls had a sour skittles eating contest!

DIAMOND BACK VOLLEYBALL
"One of our star players was Natalie, our middle hitter. She played big at the net and let only two hits go by. The whole team played great, and Natalie truly stood out!"
